Frances Hodgkins, Women at Market, 1921
Explore the work of expatriate artist Frances Hodgkins and her fellow British modernists of the 1920s and early 1930s.
During this decade Hodgkins’ work changed radically as she developed one of the most distinctive styles of British modernism. She joined the Seven & Five Society in 1929 which included like-minded artists with whom she felt an affinity. In this exhibition you can see Hodgkins’ work alongside that of Cedric Morris, Christopher Wood and Ivon Hitchens, among others.
The gallery is closed on Mondays.
This exhibition will be held on the upper floor. The building is fully accessible. We also have a wheelchair which can be borrowed for use in the gallery.
In case of emergency, follow instructions of Toi MAHARA staff.
