Halfway House Heritage Garden Walk & Talk

Historic Halfway House, Glenside

A guided walk of history, heritage and plants in the historic Halfway House garden at Glenside, halfway along the original road between Wellington and Porirua.

Discover the veges, fruit and flowers once planted by early settlers in the days when travellers along the old road to Porirua stopped for meals and accommodation at the Halfway House, the halfway mark of their journey. Bring coins to buy heritage seeds and plants. Places for 25 adults. Children free.

Health & Safety

On-site car park for up to five vehicles. Dress for the weather. Wear sensible shoes or boots, bring sunhat or brolly. Check Glenside website or Facebook for cancellations if bad weather.
