Historic Anzac Hall Tours

Enjoy a fascinating guided tour of the historically significant Anzac Hall.

The hall was first opened in 1916 as a recreation centre for the troops at the nearby Featherston military camp, with the families of the first European settlers donating the funds. The building was used as a hospital during the influenza epidemic of 1918-19. It is a Category One Historic Place.

The walk around of our fabulous Anzac Hall will provide visitors of the history of the hall, its usage over the years and its importance to Featherston today.

Featherston Anzac Club

The historically significant ANZAC Hall was first opened in 1916 as a recreation centre for the troops at the nearby Featherston military camp. Although it has undergone some minor structural changes over the years – including the formation of the Kiwi Hall in 1950, in memory of the soldiers killed in WWII – it remains an authentic example of an early civic building. It is now available for hire and hosts many community and private occasions each year.
