Historic Christ Church Taitā Open Day

The historic Christ Church, built in 1854, will be open for this year's Wellington Heritage Festival.

Come and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the oldest church building in Wellington and its beautiful churchyard.

Although Christ Church is still a consecrated Anglican Church, it is no longer a parish church and is maintained by the Preservation Society.

The Christ Church Preservation Society was originally established to ensure that the church and churchyard would be preserved as the earliest church in the Wellington district still intact, with a functioning graveyard. Management is by members of the Christ Church Preservation Society and other volunteers.
