Kotahi Armistice - Historic Birthday Celebration

Designer: John Morris

The name of our Kotahi means oneness and unity, making this a perfect moment to honour both Kotahi, world peace and the role horses have played in our local history.

An historic birthday party for our pack leader Kotahi with Armistice Day celebrations, old-fashioned games, food and drinks available (fundraising for the Purple Poppy Appeal) and historic local war memorabilia on display. The event is held in partnership with Challenge 2000 and the local RSA.

Newlands Paparangi Horse Riding Society

Our Club was incorporated back 1984 as a horse riding club to serve the horse riding needs of the northern suburbs of Wellington city. The club moved to Glenside in 1989 and in late 2024 the WCC has not renewed our lease and our Club will be forced to close in 2026 as there is nothing like the land we have for grazing that is accessible and affordable for the riders who attend from local schools. We are not a private or elitist club with a big budget, we are grassroots horse lovers based in Glenside at the Historic Halfway in Glenside Reserve
