Military Tales

Join us on our brand new tour and hear tales from our military history.

Karori Cemetery Service’s Section was established in 1916 and was the first and largest such cemetery to be established in New Zealand. Soldiers buried in the Cemetery have fought in the NZ Wars, the South African War, WWI and WW2, and the Korean, Malayan, and Vietnam Wars.

The Friend’s Military Tales tour of the Service’s Section visits the graves of over 20 prominent and decorated soldiers and nurses.

The tour takes about 1 ½ hours and includes off-trail walking requiring moderate mobility. The tour starts and ends at the Shelter at the centre of the Cemetery and parking is available. Numbers will be limited.

Health & Safety
