Take a tour of the dark places in central Masterton and find out where some of these historic murders and malevolent happenings occurred. From cold-blooded murder to suspected suicides, see where several of these Victorian events happened and hear the background of these tragic events.

Wairarapa Archive

The Wairarapa Archive is a community and council archive in Masterton. We have two kilometres of occupied shelving and approximately two million images. We are located at 3 Albert Street and are open to the public 1-5 Mon-Fri. We are a team of three and engage in digitisation, conservation and various outreach projects including talks and publications promoting local heritage.
