Red diesel locomotive and black steam locomotive emerging from a red storage building

Steam Incorporated

Come and see the incredible locomotives and rail carriages that the Steam Incorporated members are working on!

The Engine Shed is usually open Monday to Saturday with the main work days being Saturdays and Thursdays. At these times work is being done by members, but visitors are welcome to look around the site. The exception is Sunday 29th October and Sunday 5th November when the depot will be closed and no access to the site on that day.

Free car parking is available clear of the highway at the north end of the old Rail Air Shed.

Steam Incorporated also owns and operates heritage diesel locomotives, both on the main line and for shunting duties around the depot at Paekākāriki.

Main line rail tours are also run; these are regularly advertised to the public.
