The History of Newtown's Green Belt

The hillside that looks over Newtown

Tales of a Wellington hill range from 250 million years ago to the present day.

Tonight's talk will be hosted by local environmental artist Paul Forrest who weaves tales from his research about the heritage and history of our Newtown Green Belt hill range Te Ranga a Hiwi.

The talk covers the landscape from pre-human times, the changes with human history, to the present day through the eyes of birds and humans and butterflies.
