Hear about the layers of history of Pukeahu, also known as Mt Cook. Meet at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior and visit sites of historic importance, learn about the early settlement by mana whenua, the military presence of the 1930s with the opening of the National War Memorial and the Dominion Museum Building, and all future developments to the NWM and the opening of Pukeahu in 2015. Visit all points of interest and understand the importance of this historic area to both Wellington and Aotearoa.

Health & Safety

Tours will be outdoors so wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Some spaces are shared with traffic, the guide will assist at all times. Sites are wheelchair accessible and parking is available behind the Australian Memorial or in Tory St.

Please wear good shoes and dress for the weather. The tour may be cancelled in bad weather.
