Wellington Embroiderers' Guild Live Demonstration

The Wellington Embroiderers’ Guild is back at Old St Paul's for another live stitching demonstration as part of Wellington Heritage Week.

Come and join the Wellington Embroiderers’ Guild at Old St Paul’s to celebrate Heritage Week. Put in a few stitches yourself. You may be a beginner or an expert but we would love to see some stitches added to our frames during throughout the day. Or, just come and visit to see some of the different techniques we use, historical and contemporary.

You also have the opportunity to view the beautiful embroideries held at Old St Pauls, including the altar frontal set installed last year.

Health & Safety

The event will comply with the guidelines/code of Old St Paul's. It is a one-storey building, however, there are some single steps and uneven surfaces within the building.

The Wellington Embroiderers’ Guild is a society founded just over 55 years ago to encourage people to participate in and excel at embroidery. Despite the name ‘guild’ members do not have to be professional embroiderers, we welcome beginners right through to seasoned experts. The guild holds regular monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of the month at the Loaves and Fishes Hall, St Paul’s Cathedral, Hill Street, Wellington. Doors open at 7pm, meeting 7.30-9pm
