Pencil sketch of a building

Wellington Trades Hall Open Day

The foyer and meeting room has an exhibition of union memorabilia and history spanning 1893 - 1993 including videos, paintings and photos.

WTH wants to expand the space available for its displays relating to the trade union movement in NZ. It has a project to do this by building a new meeting/exhibition room on the current building. We hope the event will help promote this venture.

Health & Safety

There are no risks or concerns for public safety other than the unlikely event of an earthquake.

Wellington Trades Hall

Wellington Trades Hall is a Category 1 heritage listed building. Wellington Trades Hall was built to house unions and the Labour Party. A lot of NZ's social history has occurred there. The current WTH president is Graeme Clarke who has worked in the building since 1975. He will host the event for WTH.
