Whenua Tapu Crematorium Open Day

Built in 1982, Whenua Tapu Crematorium is a beautiful facility that has served thousands of families.

Hear about the history of the chapel and what it’s like to operate a crematorium from the staff that operate it. You can also do a walk-through of the crematorium (optional).

Cremation is the common choice is NZ when it comes to death, with over 70% of Kiwis choosing it. Traditionally Māori and Pacifica families always chose burial, however there is a slow change happening in that space also. We are passionate about de mystifying what cremation is so families can feel informed about the choices they make.

Come along as we open Whenua Tapu Crematorium to the public and answer any questions you may have.
