Wrights Hill Fortress Open Day

Visit the World War Two Fortress in Karori and learn about New Zealand's war efforts in the 1940's. Photos, displays and DVD of a 9.2 inch gun firing.

Wrights Hill Fortress Open Day - Labour Day October 27th. Come and see WW2 history at the Karori Fortress. Self- guided tours take about one hour. Historic Photos, DVD of a huge 9.2 inch gun firing and other displays. Refreshments available. Entry cash only.

Entertainment for the whole family, and friends at the World War Two Fortress in Karori. Spend one hour of more self-guiding yourselves through the 620 metres of underground tunnels. Bring a torch for some fun and stout footwear please.

Families $20, Adults $10, Child $5. NO EFTPOS - CASH ONLY please.

Military living interest displays and historic photos. Limited parking at the top of the hill. Please park sensibly. Bookings not required.

Health & Safety

No running inside tunnels, care needed on concrete steps and possible protruding objects. Prams and wheelchairs not accessible Stout footwear please and bring a torch. No smoking.

Wrights Hill Fortress Restoration Society Inc.

The Wrights Hill Fortress Restoration Society is vested with restoring the historic WW2 Fortress to its former glory. We are a self- funding Charitable Society, run by volunteers. Funds gathered at Open Days and guided tours provide the support needed to manage the Fortress, which was built in 1942.
