Cuba St is one of Wellington's old streets with a mix of shops and grander commercial buildings, and cottages. We will outline the history of some of these.
Many people enjoy Cuba Street's mix of local shops, pedestrian mall with buskers and iconic bucket fountain. Many historic buildings remain. We will stroll from the south end towards Manners St, discussing some of the historic buildings and changing history of the area.
Health & Safety
This is a walk in Wellington's CBD. We will need to cross some roads; this will be done where possible at traffic lights. We will make sure participants stay on footpaths when we stop to look at a building or historic site.
Please wear good shoes and dress for the weather. The tour may be cancelled in bad weather.
