Self Guided Tour of CycleStory Paekākāriki
Not all of our stories are written by authors in books. Alongside our literary events, is Bookmark Kāpiti's CycleStory offers the opportunity to walk or ride a self-guided tour in your own time over several weeks, both before and after the heritage festival.
Our self-guided online tour will signal places of interest and travellers can learn a snippet of heritage, cultural or literary information. CycleStory will also have places to stop and write a poem or collect information to answer a quiz question.

Guided Tour of CycleStory Paekākāriki Paekakariki Railway Station, Tilley Road, Paekākāriki Sunday 8 November 2026 3:30pm–5pm
CycleStory is BACK, and this year we are exploring Paekākāriki! 🚲✨ Join us for a special guided tour to celebrate the launch of CycleStory Paekākāriki! Starting at the Station Museum, you can learn more about this tour and then hear the stories read by Mark Amery and others associated with the people and places on the tour. The first two stories will be within walking distance. If you want to visit others farther afield in Paekākāriki, we recommend you bring your bike. Entry is free. In the event of wet weather, we will hold the readings at Finns in Paekākāriki. If you can't make the tour, you can ride CycleStory yourself anytime as long as you've got your bike (or your feet) and a phone!

For our self-guided event, participants will need to be responsible for their own health and safety. We will ensure that we do everything possible to ensure that any potential health and safety risks are taken into consideration in the planning of the tour.
Please wear good shoes and dress for the weather. The tour may be cancelled in bad weather.
