Dead Interesting - visit interesting or unusual graves, including unusual deaths, interesting decorative features and lots of local history

"Dead Interesting" is a new walking tour which traverses a selection of graves which have interesting features and/or stories including pre-1840 whalers/sealers, multiple family deaths, evocative names, and gripping back stories.

Health & Safety

Uneven paths, walkways and grassed areas. First Aid certified support person attends every tour.

Please wear good shoes and dress for the weather. The tour may be cancelled in bad weather.

The Aim of FOBSC is to preserve, protect and enhance for the public benefit the Bolton Street Cemetery. Its objectives include: Supporting Wellington City Council (WCC) in restoring graves and developing the area as an historic cemetery-park. Sponsoring grave repairs and encouraging families and groups to maintain graves. Researching historical information and heritage restoration techniques. Encouraging public interest in the Cemetery.
