Ka Mua, Ka Muri - Te Motu Kairangi

Hector McLeod stood atop the Miramar Cutting in 1910, on the site of the historic Maupuia Pā. The photograph he captured there and his subsequent annotations, notes, and articles on Māori local histories will be on display in Tō Tātou Pōneke, our new heritage space at Te Matapihi | Wellington Central Library. The exhibit will also explore the development of Miramar as a suburb, and McLeod's own brief time as Mayor of the Borough.
