Lemon Squeezers & Walking Sticks: Treasures of Featherston Heritage Museum

Be among the first to see Mark Pacey's new documentary, Lemon Squeezers and Walking Sticks, celebrating the treasures of the Featherston Heritage Museum.

Presented as part of Te Waiwhakaata Wairarapa Film Festival's Spring Season, this special event marks the world premiere of Mark Pacey's new documentary, Lemon Squeezers and Walking Sticks: Treasures of the Featherston Heritage Museum. The film explores Featherston's unique military history. Today, there is little to show that the area was once home to New Zealand's largest military training camp and its only prisoner of war camp. Through the remarkable collection of the Featherston Heritage Museum, this film uncovers the stories, objects, and people that have kept this important legacy alive. Following its premiere, this film will be gifted to the Featherston Heritage Museum, where it will become part of the museum's permanent collection for visitors to enjoy. Screenings followed by a talk with filmmaker Mark Pacey will take place at 1.00 pm, 2.00 pm, and 3.00 pm, giving audiences three opportunities to experience the film and hear more about the museum, its collection, and the making of the documentary.
