"Farewell Visit" by Alan Collins

A century of paintings of the eastern bays of Wellington Harbour from the Historical Society of Eastbourne.

An exhibition of artworks owned by the Society, together with a few loaned by society members, in the local school hall. Portraits, landscapes, records of historical events and occasions, ranging from 1847 to 2025. Members will be on hand to answer questions, and small-group tours can be arranged.

Health & Safety

The school hall is registered as a public space and all health and safety requirements have been met.

Historical Society of Eastbourne

A long-established voluntary incorporated society with local members, with the focus on matters and objects of historical interest about the history and development of the eastern bays of Wellington Harbour. The society has an extensive collection of local material held in a climate-controlled archive, and a room of resources on Eastbourne and Bays history. As well as responding to numerous inquiries, it runs local events and takes part of local occasions.
