Professor James Belich is a leading New Zealand historian whose work spans Oxford, Victoria, and Auckland Universities. His award‑winning books and documentaries have reshaped understanding of the New Zealand Wars, global settler histories, and the Black Death.
As President of the NZ Historical Association and a Te Papa board member, he offers rare insight into how museums interpret the past.
