Tawa Heritage Talk and Walk

A short illustrated presentation covering the history of Tawa followed by a guided walk featuring some of the places of historical interest.

A short, illustrated presentation covering the history of the Tawa area as it developed from 19th century farmland into today's residential suburb (about 30 mins).

The talk is followed by a guided walk featuring some of the places of historical interest featured earlier (about 90 mins).

Health & Safety

The walk starts at the Tawa Community Centre and finishes close to Takapu Road Railway Station. It is largely flat or with gentle gradients and requires a reasonable level of fitness being of 90 to 120 minutes duration. Some of the walk is on public footpaths beside suburban streets, care should be taken beside and while crossing those streets.

Please wear good shoes and dress for the weather. The tour may be cancelled in bad weather.
