Bucket Tree - Evening Post 1955
An entertaining guided walk through Tawa streets that feature some significant historical sites in the suburb.
A walk starting at the Community Centre in Cambridge Street Tawa and finishing at the Bucket Tree (motel) in Boscobel Lane that passes some significant sites in Tawa's history, lead by members of the Tawa Historical Society who will provide a commentary on the sites visited.
Please make your own arrangements for transport between back to your car or public transport at the end of the walk
Participants from outside Tawa Valley may wish to travel by train. Tawa station is about 200m from start point. Takapu Road station is about 50 m from end of walk.
Bring your own water bottle and snacks for the walk as required. The walk passes several dairies and a supermarket.
Vote in the morning and mull over your decision in the afternoon on the walk ;-)
Health & Safety
The walk is along public streets with passing traffic. Please take the care on footpaths and when crossing streets that you would when taking a private stroll. Please wear sturdy footwear suitable for a 3-4km walk along sealed footpaths. A reasonable level of fitness is required.
