The lives and families behind Eleven Pāuatahanui Graves

Leigh Savage will entertain and inform with the stories of the families behind 11 ancestors who lie in St. Joseph’s and St. Albans.

Through recollections of interlinked families and iwi of the region, Leigh will bring to life some of the characters who settled in Pāuatahanui.

Health & Safety

No toilets or mains water on site, toilets are in Pāuatahanui Village. Sloping site, disabled parking on site, steps into the church.

St Joseph’s Pāuatahanui is a church and graveyard with a Category One Listing by Heritage New Zealand as an historic place of outstanding value. The Stewards are a committee of volunteers who serve as kaitiaki of St Joseph’s Church on behalf of the St Theresa’s Parish, ensuring its future as a place for worship, commemoration, celebration, and reflection.
