The Rimutaka Incline Railway on the Big Screen

The railway from Upper Hutt to the Wairarapa included tunnels, large bridges and steep grades. The three-mile section of track between Summit and Cross Creek on the Wairarapa side of the range had a very steep grade. The Fell Engines centre-rail enabled specially-fitted locomotives to negotiate the steep grade hauling larger loads than otherwise would have been possible. See all the action on a very big screen.
