Experience Futuna Chapel through the dramatic lens of black-and-white photography in a special exhibition held inside this celebrated heritage space over three Festival weekends, with scheduled public talks bringing the images, stories, and architecture to life.
Featuring the work of photographer John Grace, who has documented Futuna Chapel over many years, the exhibition showcases light, shadow, form, and memory. Working with an old tripod camera and remarkable 1866 vintage French lenses, Grace creates images that connect contemporary viewers with the craft, atmosphere, and patience of early photography.
Alongside the exhibition, weekend public talks by photographers, writers, and heritage specialists will explore perspectives on heritage architecture and New Zealand history through the lense of black and white photography.
